Namaste and Hello!
Thanks for stopping by ~ I am Ryma aka Reema, biophillic by nature, live in Auckland and a Mum to two gorgeous and high-energy boys (age 5 and 10). I have been practising and teaching yog for 15+ years. I was born in India and, have been very blessed to learn authentic yoga in India from some revered Gurus. I was taught yoga as a child, but only got back into it after an injury that left me limping in 2006, and thereby have experienced its many positive and healing aspects as a practitioner and teacher. My journey with yog is very paradoxical, as it is full of ups and downs just like my life journey.
In 2019, I had a lower back injury that put me in pain for a very long time. And, having a young family, chronic pain, and the daily stresses and struggles of life made it very difficult to function, to say the least! So, being on my mat or coming back to my breadth helped me deal with situations in a calmer way and pulled me back to the moment.
In my case, I embraced a holistic approach to healing, integrating the benefits of surgery, modern Western medicine, strength training, breath awareness, traditional healing and spiritual practices including dhyana (meditation), pranayama (breath control) and asana (exercise) to make peace and feel empowered within myself and, to have a mindset that is able to deal with any scenario that life throws at me.
Balancing my inner me with my outer me, I call it!
I fell in love with yog - a limitless science, yoga philosophy and wisdom of this ancient science, and it made me feel more connected with my roots. Sharing my knowledge, insights and experience became my passion and life mission. My own journey naturally made me empathetic, supportive and reciprocative to others' needs. I find my practise brings me to the present that is to be cherished and love to share with others every single day.
Stop! Pause! Breathe…
My self-love & self-care regime…
I love spending time with my 2 young boys, spending time with loved ones, expanding my knowledge about yoga, and learning new skills, modifying my practise to best suit my current needs.
I enjoy my free time dancing, listening to music, reading and reflecting to unwind.
